As an animal nutrition student, securing an internship in Denmark presents an incredible opportunity to gain firsthand experience and technical knowledge in farm animal care. Denmark is renowned for its advanced agricultural systems, sustainable livestock management, and research-driven innovations in animal nutrition and welfare. Through this internship, I will have the chance to work closely with farmers and experts in the field, gaining practical skills and exposure to cutting-edge practices that enhance animal health and productivity. Beyond technical knowledge, this internship will allow me to build a strong professional network with industry leaders and researchers based on collaboration with host farm), opening doors for future collaborations. Additionally, the insights I will gain from Denmark’s innovative approaches will be invaluable in transforming agriculture in my home country Kenya. By applying these learnings, I aim to contribute to improving animal nutrition, sustainability, and overall farm efficiency, ultimately making a meaningful impact in my community and country.

Throughout my academic journey, I have gained hands-on experience through internships at a dairy cattle farm, a poultry farm, and as a casual worker in a piggery farm. Additionally, my role as a volunteer at Egerton University Farm and my involvement in research during my masters have further strengthened my practical skills and understanding of animal nutrition. I am eager to apply my knowledge in a real-world setting, and Denmark presents the perfect opportunity for this. The country is renowned for its advancements in agriculture and animal science, particularly in sustainable livestock management and innovative feeding strategies. Through this internship, I look forward to work in a dairy or pig farm to expand my technical expertise, and gaining insights into modern farming systems. I am confident that the skills and experiences I will acquire in Denmark will be invaluable in transforming agricultural practices in my home country.
